According to the city's Department of Agriculture and Environment, thanks to the good preparation work of sectors and localities and the conditions and prevention measures according to the direction of the central government and the city, storm No. 11 did not cause human damage, and the safety of dike works, irrigation works, and people's lives was ensured.
Accordingly, 43 dike routes in the city with a total length
790.1km long, 75 key locations of dikes are stable, safety is guaranteed. Irrigation canal system, electric pumping station maintained, operated effectively, promptly implemented to reduce buffer water level before, during and after the storm.

The work of calling on boats, fishermen, aquaculture farmers, and tourists staying in coastal tourist areas to take shelter in safe places has been promptly implemented by sectors, localities, and units.
However, due to the influence of rain circulation after the storm from about 12 o'clock on October 6, it started to rain in Hai Phong city. The rainfall measured from 12 - 14:30 was about 75 mm. Due to widespread rain combined with high tides in the river, localized flooding occurred on some roads in Hong Bang, Hong An, Le Chan, An Bien, Ngo Quyen, Gia Vien, Hai An, An Hai wards... Traffic activities were still normal, without congestion.
To enhance the drainage capacity, Hai Phong Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. has implemented flood control work right from the start of the rain. Including installing a mobile pump with a capacity of 1,000m3 /hour at the Lan Ong - Tran Quang Khai outlet; lowering the water level in the regulating ditches to the lowest possible level (before the rain and during the entire process afterwards). All forces of the sluices are on duty 100% to regulate the water level at the sluice gates.
As soon as the heavy rain started, Hai Phong Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. pumped at the rainwater pumping stations: Ba Tong, Vinh Niem, May Den, Nam Song Cam, Thuong Ly, Trai Chuoi and Bach Dang underpass, and Cau Rao underpass to increase drainage for the city. Arranged 100% of the staff to collect garbage at the inlets and frog-shaped manholes to quickly drain the water; opened drainage gates at key locations to increase drainage capacity. Checked and stood guard at flood hotspots such as: An Da, Dinh Dong, Bot Tron, To Hieu, Le Loi, Cau Dat, Road 5, Binh Bridge foot, flooded areas... regulated the opening of tide-preventing sluice gates and sluice gates to the river mouth. Cleared the flow at the discharge gates, ditches and regulating lakes.
By about 4:30 p.m. the same day, flooded areas in the city had clearly improved, water levels had receded significantly, and the number of flooded areas had decreased significantly.
