Thought I was a chicken turned out to be rice
After school, a high school boy was taken to see a doctor by his principal in a state of confusion. He was opposed by the whole school, shunned by his friends, and his parents were upset.
The reason is because his sensitive clip was spread, along with rumors that he filmed a video showing off his private parts to "get views" in class.
This is the sharing of Dr. Phan Chi Thanh - Chief of Office of Training Center - Line Command, Central Maternity Hospital, about a real case received in the series "Story 18" of Dan Tri newspaper.
Falling into the trap of a fake crush, a male student's private clip was exposed
The male student said that he knew a female account on social media, called herself Chi, 4 years older than him, who always gave compliments and expressed admiration.
"She sent me private photos and said if I also filmed a clip, she would like me even more. I thought I was a rich kid, with an adult who liked me," the male student honestly told the doctor.
The feeling of being pursued made him confident and he filmed the clip as requested. However, just a few days later, that private clip was spread on porn forums.
According to Dr. Thanh, this is not uncommon. "There is a whole industry hunting for sensitive clips, especially with minors, because they attract a huge number of views," Dr. Thanh warned.
The trap is not easy to spot.
As a teenager, being noticed by the opposite sex is something that easily makes you feel special.
In this case, according to Dr. Thanh, the male student simply thought he was the winner in an online “love game.” The female account claiming to be her older sister continuously complimented him on his handsomeness, expressed her interest in him, and sent private photos to show her trust.
The feeling of being “attacked” by an older person made him feel proud and confident. For a teenager entering puberty, this was an understandable feeling.
Dr. Phan Chi Thanh explains: “In fact, men are often vulnerable. They like the feeling of being recognized and pursued by the opposite sex. This unintentionally makes men easily fall into the sweet psychological trap online.”
The problem becomes more serious when the "sister" account most likely does not exist. With the rapid development of AI technology, the people behind it can create a series of fake accounts, controlled by chatbots that can interact just like real people. All with the sole purpose of making the victim trust them completely.
“This is a very new form of psychological fraud. Without the need for video calls or face-to-face meetings, these chatboxes can send messages every day with polished language, gradually manipulating emotions and convincing victims to perform sensitive actions. All within a pre-programmed scenario,” Dr. Thanh emphasized.
For adults, it is difficult to distinguish between what is real and what is fake online; for students, it is almost impossible. A teenager who is thirsty for recognition and love will easily believe that “she really likes me”. And in just a moment of losing vigilance, they can fall into a trap with no way out.
From this story, Dr. Thanh emphasized: “Social networks are truly a double-edged sword. It can make children feel special, cared for and more confident. But that illusion can also easily cause them to get caught up in unreal relationships.”
According to Dr. Thanh, it is important that parents, teachers and adults accompany children on their journey of using social networks instead of just prohibiting or judging them.
