Researching solutions to maintain the brand of Ho Chi Minh City press agencies

During the process of reorganizing the Ho Chi Minh City press, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang requested relevant agencies to continue researching, considering, and finding solutions to maintain the brand and role of traditional press agencies in the city in accordance with policies and regulations.

On September 10, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee issued a notice of the conclusion of comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, at a working session on the arrangement of Ho Chi Minh City press agencies.

Accordingly, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee concluded, acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of press agencies to the process of building and developing Ho Chi Minh City over the past time.

The implementation of the arrangement of press agencies according to the Party's general policy aims to streamline the organizational apparatus, improve operational efficiency, promote the key role of Ho Chi Minh City press in information and propaganda work to effectively carry out political tasks and develop Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.

During the reorganization process, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested relevant agencies to continue researching, reviewing, and finding solutions to maintain the brand and role of traditional press agencies in the city in accordance with policies and regulations.

At the same time, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and relevant agencies and units are assigned to closely follow the direction of the Central Committee and the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to urgently complete the arrangement and merger of radio and television stations (Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Radio and Television Station) and the arrangement and transfer of functions and tasks of Binh Duong Newspaper and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper to Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper; to be completed before September 14.

At the same time, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to fully absorb the opinions of agencies, units and members attending the meeting, carefully review the contents and base on relevant regulations to propose supplements and complete the project to arrange the Ho Chi Minh City press, ensuring strictness and compliance with regulations; adjust the name of the project in accordance with the Central's orientation and regulations; synthesize and report to competent authorities for consideration and comments.

At the same time, carefully prepare the content, clarify the difficulties and obstacles, assess the current status of current legal regulations and the practice of arranging press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate and reach an agreement with the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation and relevant agencies when participating in giving opinions and proposing amendments and supplements to Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms and policies of Ho Chi Minh City and amending and supplementing the Press Law on contents related to the organizational model of press and radio and television agencies in accordance with the practice and characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, on September 6, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the arrangement of Ho Chi Minh City press agencies. The meeting was also attended by leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City departments, branches and sectors and Ho Chi Minh City press agencies.
