Binh Khanh ferry terminal proposed to sponsor 3 200-ton ferries

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a document conveying the direction of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Duoc on the proposal to sponsor ferry vehicles operating at Binh Khanh ferry terminal.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee supports the policy of Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company sponsoring ferry vehicles operating at Binh Khanh ferry terminal, in order to contribute to solving traffic congestion during rush hours.

Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company and Thanh Nien Xung Phong Public Service Company Limited proactively coordinate and continue working to agree on a plan for ferry vehicle delivery, and send the results to the Department of Construction as soon as possible.

Binh Khanh ferry terminal is currently overloaded due to lack of ferries.

Previously, Can Gio Tourism Joint Stock Company sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposing solutions to enhance traffic connections in the Can Gio area while waiting for the completion of strategic infrastructure projects.

Accordingly, the demand for travel between the city center and Can Gio area has been increasing continuously, especially on weekends and holidays. Binh Khanh ferry route is currently the main means of connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio area, and is overloaded due to the lack of ferries, affecting people's lives and socio -economic development.

Improving the transport capacity of Binh Khanh ferry terminal has become an urgent need to ensure safety and convenience for people.

Can Gio Company proposed to sponsor 3 ferries with a capacity of 200 tons to carry people and vehicles for the Youth Volunteer Force to manage and operate, in order to support the increase of service capacity of the Binh Khanh ferry route. This sponsorship includes costs arising from fuel, labor costs and other costs during operation. The expected duration of operation is about 2.5 years, close to the completion of the city's key connecting infrastructure projects such as Can Gio bridge and the Can Gio connecting railway.
