Musician Thế Hiển passed away on the evening of October 1 at Military Hospital 175 (HCMC), after a long battle with a serious illness, at the age of 70. The composer of the song “Nhanh Lan Rung” passed away, leaving behind endless sorrow in the hearts of his family, colleagues and audience.
To commemorate and pay tribute to a great artist, a talented musician of the Vietnamese music industry, the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association decided to organize a music night with the theme Wild Orchids Still Bloom , taking place right at the Southern National Funeral Home, where the funeral for musician The Hien was held.
With more than half a century of dedication to music, he has left behind a huge legacy, rich in emotions and diverse with many different topics. From heroic songs that have stood the test of time such as Hat ve anh, Nhanh lan rung ... arousing patriotism and soldier spirit to deep, sweet love songs or songs about innocent school age. No matter what the level, The Hien's music always touches the hearts of listeners with sincerity and a strong love for life.

The music program with the theme Wild orchids still bloom is also a reunion of like-minded souls, a deep thank you to the talented musician. This special event was directed by musician Nguyen Quang Vinh - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, in charge of the program was musician Bao Huy (son of musician The Hien), with the participation of a band including musicians Hoang Hue, Tran Minh Trung, Dinh Hoang Vu, Lam Dinh Thuan and Kim Long.
The music night will bring a journey filled with nostalgia and emotions, through familiar melodies of Wild Orchid Branch (singer Huynh Loi); Memories from a Distant Island (singer Anh Thuy); Singing About You (Meritorious Artist The Vi); When the Balloons Fly (Amy Le Anh); Proud of the City I Love (Thien Phu); Mother and White Plumeria (Dong Quan, Dong Nghi); Purple Sunset (Ngoc Son), Da Lat in the Beginning of Winter (Thach Dung), Nhong nhong nhong (Sumi Ngoc Thao); Question Mark (Phuong Thanh); Thank You (Phuoc Chien, Thien Phu, Amy Le Anh, Lan Anh). Notably, musician The Hien's daughter, singer Lan Anh, will also perform the song Toc Em Doi Ga , a famous composition of his.
According to the obituary, the memorial service for People's Artist The Hien will take place at 7:00 a.m. on October 7. His coffin will be buried at Binh Duong Cemetery (Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
