This afternoon (October 6), Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine responded to the case of a 24-year-old candidate who was admitted to the school's 2025 internal medicine doctoral training program.
Accordingly, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has announced the decision to recognize the list of admitted doctoral students in 2025. Notably, among the 25 candidates admitted to the doctoral training program this time, there is candidate Au Nhat Huy (24 years old) admitted to the internal medicine major.
Candidate Au Nhat Huy was admitted with a score of 88.80 - the second highest among the 25 successful candidates. Not only is he the youngest candidate to be admitted to the doctoral training program in internal medicine at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2025, his previous academic and research achievements have also caused a stir in public opinion.
Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, representative of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine said that the school has reviewed the entire doctoral admission process in 2025 and confirmed that candidate Au Nhat Huy is qualified for admission.
"Candidate Au Nhat Huy registered for the doctoral entrance exam and met the required standards. The candidate completed the research proposal according to the instructions and defended the proposal according to the regulations, and was evaluated by the council with the results as announced. The school has conducted the admission completely in accordance with the regulations," said the school representative.
How does the PhD program at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine recruit?
The school representative also said that the information on post-graduate admissions in 2025 has been made public on the school’s website. In particular, the school’s admission method complies with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to the 2025 post-graduate admission announcement of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, the conditions for admission to the doctoral level require candidates to have one of the following: a master's degree in medicine in the field corresponding to the registered field or a general practitioner degree with honors or higher; Or a diploma equivalent to level 7 according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in the correct field or a field corresponding to the registered field.
In addition, research experience requires candidates to have one of the following evidences: master's thesis; or scientific articles, reports published in scientific journals or conference proceedings, specialized scientific seminars with review; Or lecturers, researchers of training institutions, scientific and technological organizations with working time of 2 years or more. In addition, candidates need to meet the requirements on research outline and foreign language according to regulations. Candidates will be evaluated and scored through application documents, research experience, quality of research outline in a direct form.
According to the regulations of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, the full-time doctoral training program is 3 years for those with a master's degree or a degree equivalent to level 7 according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in accordance with the registered major; Full-time training is 4 years for those without a master's degree.
