Medical staff take boats to treat people

TPO - On the morning of September 12, Phuc Xa ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) was still one of the most flooded areas in Hanoi. Local people were given food and clean water supply stations; medical staff had to go by boat to treat sick elderly and children.

Chairman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee, Mr. Ta Nam Chien, recommended that people be ready to evacuate to ensure safety.

The People's Committee of Phuc Xa Ward also requested people living along the Red River to proactively arrange and move their assets, and promptly evacuate when there is an emergency notice to protect their lives.

On Thanh Yen - Phuc Tan street, people rowed boats to transport people and necessities in and out of heavily flooded houses.

People here said "this is the first time witnessing such flooding".

The entire Phuc Xa street (Ba Dinh) was flooded, disrupting the lives of many households here.

Many people still have to move their belongings elsewhere.

People are provided with clean water by Hanoi clean water company.

Some streets in Phuc Xa ward, such as Tan Ap street, part of Nghia Dung street, Phuc Xa street... have been deeply flooded. The government and functional forces have been present to support people in moving and transporting their belongings...

Mr. Nguyen Chung, who lives in lane 38 Phuc Xa, said: "Yesterday, my house was flooded up to my waist. All electricity and water were cut off. It wasn't until this morning when the water level receded that I went out to buy food. My life has been turned upside down."

Phuc Xa Ward People's Committee has mobilized many forces... to participate in flood and storm prevention work, helping people move in and out of the area; transporting furniture and necessities.

Workers in Tan Ap area are packing bags of soil to prevent water from rising at any time.

Nurses carried medical supplies into flooded houses to help treat sick and elderly people who could not move outside.

Food and drink are the greatest needs of people at this time.

Flooding has greatly affected the lives of people in Tan Ap street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
