The Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to the city's departments, branches, sectors, socio -political organizations and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities about not organizing receptions, receiving guests and receiving congratulatory flowers on the 42nd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day.
For many years now, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced that it will not host receptions or receive congratulatory flowers on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day. This is to implement the Government 's overall program on practicing thrift and combating waste.
On this occasion, many high schools in Hanoi announced that they would not accept flowers or congratulatory gifts from parents. Among them are private high schools such as Lomonosov Secondary and High School, FPT Primary School, FPT Secondary and High School, etc.
Dong Nai Department of Education and Training also announced that it will not organize receptions, receive flowers and congratulatory gifts on the 42nd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai, in recent years, in order to seriously and effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Party Central Committee and the Law on practicing thrift and combating waste, the Department has seriously implemented the policy of not welcoming or receiving guests, not accepting flowers or congratulatory gifts on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day every year. This year, the Department continues to implement this regulation.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, Kindergarten 14 (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) surprised everyone with a special invitation from the principal. Specifically, Ms. Huynh Thi Phuong Thao, Principal of Kindergarten 14, announced that she would not accept flowers or gifts, but only hoped to receive a "survey" to improve the quality of education and strengthen the connection between the school and parents.
"The school receives comments from parents through the survey to strengthen the connection between parents and the school. From there, we can improve the care and education of children," Ms. Thao wrote in an open letter.
Previously, Mr. Le Hong Thai, Principal of Phan Van Tri Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) wrote an open letter, refusing to accept flowers to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
According to the principal, every year, on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, the school receives many congratulatory flower baskets. However, these flowers are only used for a few days before being thrown away, which is a waste. This year, due to the difficult economic situation, through this open letter, the school hopes that instead of giving flowers, benefactors, businesses, and organizations would change the form by giving notebooks, milk, and sports equipment so that the school can reward the students.
"The school hopes to receive support and sharing from donors, businesses and organizations to bring practical gifts, directly support the children in training their mind, body and aesthetics, and encourage them to confidently participate in useful playgrounds," Mr. Thai wrote in the letter.
At the end of October, Le Van Tam Primary School (Tuyen Quang) also sent an open letter to parents, requesting permission not to accept gifts or envelopes from parents on holidays and Tet.
From the school's perspective, with the motto of taking the development of students as the center, the school always aims for the best values for students. The progress and maturity of students every day is the happiness, motivation and the most precious gift for the school and teachers.
"The school hopes that parents will always feel secure when their children study at the school, with a spirit of trust, purity, fairness and towards the comprehensive development of students. Gratitude through good wishes and meaningful actions contributes to spreading joy and connection between parents, schools and teachers," the open letter stated.
