
Many remarkable results
Currently, Nghe An province has 47 ethnic groups living together, with more than 491,200 people (accounting for 14.76% of the province's population). Ethnic minorities in the province reside in 65 communes, wards, 932 villages and hamlets on an area of more than 13,700km2 (accounting for 83% of the province's area).
Over the past years, the Party and the State have had many important policies and guidelines to develop the socio -economic situation of ethnic minority areas. The Fatherland Front and organizations at all levels have also actively improved the effectiveness of ethnic work in the new situation, including Conclusion No. 01/KL-DCT of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

After 10 years of implementation, comprehensive results have been achieved, clearly demonstrated through 5 main contents related to enhancing the effectiveness of propaganda work to maintain the great national unity bloc; coordinating and implementing well campaigns and emulation movements suitable for ethnic minority areas.
At the same time, effectively participate in the implementation of the people's foreign affairs work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in ethnic minority areas. The implementation and participation in the development of mechanisms and policies, promoting the role of prestigious and exemplary people, improving the capacity of Front cadres in ethnic minority areas as well as implementing the work of social supervision and criticism are carried out in depth.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has supported the construction and repair of 16,528 houses in districts and communes of ethnic minority areas.
With its responsibility, the Provincial Fatherland Front has coordinated with the former Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to help 115 especially difficult communes in Western Nghe An, with a total support budget of more than 310 billion VND.
At the same time, connecting agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists to donate and support more than 439.2 billion VND, to be distributed to 100% of the poor, more than 60% of near-poor households, and other subjects.

Regarding religious affairs, Nghe An currently has over 300,000 Catholics living in 13 dioceses and 121 parishes. Buddhism has over 210,000 Buddhists, living in 75 pagodas and 01 Buddhist prayer hall under the guidance of 121 monks, nuns and priests. The province also has about 300 followers of other religions.
Through the effective implementation of Conclusion No. 02/KL-DTC, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have continuously innovated the content and methods of operation, proactively approached dignitaries, officials, and followers to create consensus in the religious community. Thereby, contributing to bringing a peaceful life to the people and actively contributing to the economic, cultural, social, and national defense and security development in the area.
Strengthening the great solidarity bloc from ethnic and religious work
At the conference, many opinions and discussions clarified solutions to improve the effectiveness of religious and ethnic work in the new situation.
In his concluding remarks, comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung emphasized six contents and tasks to promote the role of the Fatherland Front at all levels in ethnic and religious work in the coming time.

The key tasks include improving the effectiveness of propaganda work; promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities, continuing to promote and replicate models in religious work. At the same time, proactively grasp the situation of the people, the situation of ethnic religions, listen to voices from the grassroots, in accordance with the two-level government. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the work of supervision and criticism, focusing on training and fostering cadres to serve religious work in a comprehensive and synchronous manner.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in implementing Conclusion 01/KL-DCT and 5 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in implementing Conclusion 02/KL-DCT.
