Many banks pay more than 1,100 billion VND in gifts of 100,000 VND to people

(NLDO) - Working through the September 2nd holiday, the banking system in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai paid out more than VND1,100 billion in government gifts to the people.

This is the information given by Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank - Branch Region 2, regarding the Government 's gift payment activities to people on the occasion of Independence Day.

Accordingly, as of noon on September 1, the banking system in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai has paid out VND1,125 billion (denominations of VND500,000 and VND100,000) with appropriate structures to give to households and individuals. Dong Nai province alone has paid out VND345 billion to credit institutions to pay and give gifts from the Government to communes and wards in the area.

"The banking system is maintaining payment and treasury operations throughout the holidays, and credit institutions have been active in making payments and giving the Government's independent Tet gifts to the people," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, many customers of banks said that they have received 100,000 VND in gifts transferred into their accounts. Mr. Nguyen Thanh (residing in Thu Duc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that this afternoon, his account opened at VietinBank received a total of 400,000 VND for his family of 4.

Customers of some other banks such as VPBank also said they received gifts transferred into their accounts.

Along with paying out 100,000 VND in gifts to people, credit institutions also combine solutions to expand cashless payments, with creative and suitable products such as giving smartphones to the poor; giving gifts and rewards when opening accounts and using services combined with the VneID application for social security payments.

Thanh's family of four received 400,000 VND in gifts from the Government on the occasion of Independence Day.

A VPBank account holder said he received a gift on the occasion of September 2nd.
