Many universities in Ho Chi Minh City announced their Tet holiday schedule, lasting a whole month.

(NLDO) - Many universities in Ho Chi Minh City have just announced their Lunar New Year 2026 holiday schedule. Some of them have a month-long holiday schedule.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade is one of the schools that announced the earliest Tet holiday schedule. Accordingly, students will have a one-month Tet holiday, from February 9, 2026 to March 8, 2026 (December 22 to January 21 of the lunar calendar).

MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center - Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that right after students finished the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, the school announced the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday schedule around March 2025.

"The school will base on the training progress of the 2025-2026 school year and clearly announce the timelines, including Tet and summer holidays. This will help students proactively arrange their study time and "hunt" for tickets to return home." - MSc. Son informed.

Minh Anh, a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that in addition to "hunting" for early, cheap tickets, students can find part-time jobs to earn extra income before returning home.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance has also just announced a month-long Tet holiday. Students will be off from February 1, 2026 to March 1, 2026 (ie from December 13 to January 13 of the lunar calendar).

Some schools have a 3-week schedule such as: University of Natural Sciences - VNU-HCM, from February 9 to March 1, 2026; University of Medicine and Pharmacy, HCMC from February 9 to 27, 2026; University of Technical Education, Saigon International University, University of Natural Resources and Environment, HCMC from February 9 to 28, 2026.

Vietnam Aviation Academy has a Tet holiday from February 9 to March 1, 2026. From March 2 to 8, 2026, students will study online. From March 9, 2026, students will study in person according to the announced schedule.

University of Economics and Law, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM, University of Industry - HCMC, Hoa Sen University are expected to have a 2-week Tet holiday, from February 9 to February 22, 2026 (ie December 22 to January 6).
