Many problems on the highway need to be solved

On December 27, the National Assembly Supervisory Delegation of Binh Thuan province, headed by Mr. Nguyen Huu Thong, worked with the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district on "Implementation of Resolution No. 43 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program and resolutions of the National Assembly on a number of important national projects until the end of 2023".

At the meeting, the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district reported to the delegation the difficulties and obstacles in coordinating the implementation of the North-South expressway project. The locality is one of the districts where the North-South expressway project passes through. The area of ​​land that must be cleared for the project is more than 250 hectares, affecting 674 households and 7 organizations. When implementing the project, land compensation encountered many difficulties, mainly due to the fact that the resettlement compensation policy still had some shortcomings that were not suitable to the actual conditions. The compensation price for some types of assets such as houses, architectural works, fruit trees and crops was still low compared to reality. The compensation price between adjacent plots of land in the commune bordering Ma Lam town was very different, leading to comparisons. In addition, the main route of the North-South Expressway has been completed, but the progress of some residential access roads is still slow, the design and implementation process still has many shortcomings, causing flooding of rice fields of Ham Tri residents, and some downstream culverts go directly into people's land, causing frustration.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Ham Thuan Bac District People's Committee, said: "Normally, the sewers are placed into streams and ditches, but here the sewers are brought directly to people's land in some locations, causing frustration. After completing the construction of the expressway, the people's roads were promised to be repaired by December 30, but until now, the promise is still over...".

The difficulties and problems in the coordination process of implementing the North-South expressway project through Ham Thuan Bac district are significantly affecting the lives of the people. The People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district requested the monitoring team to take note and make recommendations to the Ministry of Transport and related units to promptly remove and resolve them...
