TPO - On the 5th day of Tet, when people flocked back to Ho Chi Minh City after the Tet holiday, some volunteer groups also prepared water and bread to give out for free to passersby.
Mr. Nguyen Le Duy, an official of the People's Committee of Thanh Duc Commune, Ben Luc District ( Long An ) and his group of friends were present near the Ben Luc Bridge on National Highway 1 through Ben Luc District to distribute drinking water and cold towels to people from the West returning to Ho Chi Minh City. This year, Mr. Duy's group prepared 10,000 bottles of water and 1,000 loaves of bread. |
The signboard announcing free mineral water quickly attracted people. This is a very meaningful work, helping passersby reduce some of the fatigue, especially in the hot weather after Tet. |
In addition to Mr. Duy's free water distribution group, there is also Mr. "Tommy" Teo's volunteer car repair group. |
Many people received free water from the volunteer group. |
Many gifts including a bottle of mineral water and a meat sandwich were given to passersby to help relieve fatigue and heat. |
"Coming from Ca Mau to here and receiving the kindness of the Ben Luc people is truly precious. My whole family has traveled a long journey, these sips of water are truly sweet, thank you Long An people", Mr. Phan Ngoc Phuc was moved. |
"I was deeply touched and moved to receive the free gift while I was tired and miserable after a long trip. This was a very meaningful action, not only helping me and many others have more strength to continue the journey but also providing spiritual encouragement," said Mr. Tuan. |
This meaningful work also shows sharing with people in difficult circumstances, those who are struggling to return to normal life after Tet. |
This charity group has received support from philanthropists and local people, thereby spreading the spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance, and adding motivation to workers far from home. |
No one knew anyone, but the street was still bustling with greetings, thanks, and wishes for a peaceful new year. |
