Binh Phuoc Club will replace Quang Nam Club to play in V-League

On July 24, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) received Official Dispatch No. 265/VPF-TCTĐ from Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) regarding a report and proposal for a plan in case Quang Nam Club does not continue to participate in the 2025-2026 season, including the V-League.

Accordingly, VFF responded to VPF as follows: On July 24, the VFF Executive Committee agreed on a plan to arrange, adjust, supplement, and replace football teams participating in national professional football tournaments in the 2025-2026 season in case a team withdraws from the V-League 2025-2026.

Cong Phuong's Binh Phuoc Club is the first name when considering the criteria to play in V-League 2025 - 2026, replacing Quang Nam Club.

Criteria for selecting replacement teams to participate in V-League 2025 - 2026:

- Based on the competition results of the national first division tournament season 2024 - 2025;

- Only 1 replacement team will be selected, which is the team with the highest ranking after the teams that have won a place in the V-League 2025 - 2026 and are eligible for a license in the following order: Binh Phuoc Club (runner-up in the 2024 - 2025 National First Division); PVF-CAND Club (ranked 3rd in the 2024 - 2025 National First Division).

VFF responds to VPF

In case Binh Phuoc Club refuses to be promoted, PVF-CAND Club will be considered as a replacement. In case both clubs above refuse to be promoted, V-League 2025 - 2026 will remain as 13 teams participating in the tournament.

How is the first division?

In case a team in the first division is promoted to play in the V-League 2025 - 2026 to replace Quang Nam Club (withdrawn from the tournament), it means that the national first division 2025 - 2026 must also have adjustments. Regarding this, VFF decided as follows: based on the competition results of the national second division 2025, the 2 clubs ranked 3rd in Group A and Group B will be added to compete in the national first division 2025 - 2026 with the condition that the club must ensure to meet the regulations in clauses 4 and 5, article 7 of the Vietnam Professional Football Regulations (amended and supplemented in 2023).

In case the above clubs do not participate in the national first division tournament, the situation will be carried out according to reality. Specifically, the teams include: PVF-CAND Youth Club (ranked 3rd in Group A) and Lam Dong Club (ranked 3rd in Group B). The clubs promoted to compete in the national first division tournament 2025 - 2026 must ensure that they meet the conditions to participate in the tournament according to the Vietnam Professional Football Regulations (amended and supplemented in 2023) and the National First Division Tournament Regulations 2025 - 2026.
