Female deputy chief judge arrested for demanding 50 million VND in compensation

On October 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong, Deputy Chief Justice of the People's Court of Binh Minh Town ( Vinh Long ), was taken to the Detention Center of Military Region 9. Ms. Suong was arrested for accepting bribes at the headquarters that same morning.

According to initial information, in the process of performing the task of handling the civil case, Ms. Suong prolonged the settlement time, causing difficulties for the litigant. Ms. Suong is said to have demanded that the plaintiff pay 50 million VND before bringing the case to trial.

On the morning of October 3, at the office, when Ms. Suong received 40 million VND from the client, she was caught red-handed by the Supreme People's Procuracy's Investigation Agency.

Ms. Suong, 52 years old, is from Phu Loc commune, Tam Binh district, Vinh Long province. She has a master's degree in law and is a primary judge of Binh Minh town People's Court.
