Olympic female shooter Mong Tuyen receives full university scholarship

On the morning of August 22, Paris Olympic shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen officially became a new student at Hoa Sen University (HSU), after completing the admission procedures and receiving a full scholarship "Nurturing Sports Talents".

Mong Tuyen is one of 16 representatives of Vietnamese sports competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, creating a big surprise for experts and fans because rifle shooting is not a strong point of Vietnamese shooting, and no shooter has ever won an official Olympic ticket to compete in this event.

Mong Tuyen shared: "I am very happy and excited to come to Hoa Sen University to complete the admission procedures. I would like to thank the school's Board of Directors for creating conditions and awarding me this scholarship.

This is an opportunity for me to study and improve my knowledge. I will try my best to complete the upcoming tournaments and study well at HSU."

Mong Tuyen officially became a new student at the age of 21

Previously, Tuyen made her mark with a series of outstanding achievements such as: 3 gold medals and setting 4 records at the 2022 National Sports Festival, Southeast Asian gold medal, 3 gold medals at the 2023 National Championship, 4th place at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship.

Currently in the women's 10m air rifle event, Mong Tuyen holds the championship record in the Youth, National Championships and National Sports Festivals.

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh, Head of High Performance Sports Department 1 of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Mong Tuyen is still very young and is the core of the women's air rifle shooting not only in Ho Chi Minh City but also has the ability to succeed other seniors in the near future.
