On November 26, continuing the 8th Session, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang gave explanations and accepted the opinions of the National Assembly deputies. According to the Minister, in 2024, political security, social order and safety will be basically ensured, crimes and law violations in our country will be basically well controlled; the social environment will be maintained in security and safety. However, there are still some shortcomings and limitations as stated in the report and opinions of the National Assembly deputies. Accordingly, the number of dissolved or operating enterprises is still high, leading to unemployment and a trend of shifting labor structure from urban to rural areas. Meanwhile, the human resource demand of this area is limited, leading to a surplus of labor, especially among young people. This is one of the causes of crime, especially property crimes such as theft, robbery, extortion, and property fraud in rural and mountainous areas, which have increased this year. Second is the decline in social morality. This is a consequence that has accumulated over many years due to the negative side of the market economy, especially due to the flow of foreign cultural products that are not strictly censored on social networking platforms. One of the manifestations of this is crime, especially crimes against children, crimes against law enforcement officers, and illegal acts imitating famous people spreading on the internet, which continue to increase in recent years. Third, the effectiveness of general prevention work, especially social prevention, has not met practical requirements. Many conflicts have not been detected and resolved promptly by local authorities and social organizations, especially conflicts related to land disputes. Minister Luong Tam Quang said that regarding the issue of handling fugitives abroad, the police force and law enforcement agencies are cooperating internationally, strengthening and signing agreements related to the transfer of sentenced prisoners and the extradition of criminals. "Based on each country, we are also gradually taking steps and recently, we have arrested and extradited many subjects. There are countries that have never extradited criminals to other countries but have recently cooperated with us to bring extradited subjects back to their country" - the Minister said. According to Minister Luong Tam Quang, in the coming time, the Ministry will continue to advise the Government to have inter-governmental agreements so that we can better implement this content. It is forecasted that the world and regional situation will continue to develop complicatedly. In the country, hostile and reactionary forces will continue to carry out activities to sabotage the country. Crime, social evils and law violations will continue to increase with more diverse methods, more serious nature and level. Minister Luong Tam Quang said that the task of fighting and preventing crime and law violations in the coming time is very heavy, difficult and urgent, requiring more drastic participation, proactiveness and coordination of ministries, branches and localities. "We are also continuing to propose the development of legal regulations to do well and manage better, and fight more effectively against activities that take advantage of cyberspace and high technology to violate the law" - the Minister of Public Security emphasized.
