Soldiers of the Military Command of Van Giang district (Hung Yen) participated in transporting pigs to people.

Locals said that yesterday afternoon the water was still at the yard’s edge, and by 8pm the water had flooded in, leaving people unable to react. The water is now over 1 meter high, making it difficult to evacuate the pigs.

Mr. Tran Van Hung, a truck driver, said that from morning until now he has driven 2 trucks carrying pigs, each trip carrying about 60 pigs for people in Phung Cong commune.

Some farms were damaged due to failure to transport in time.

The family of Mr. Quan and Ms. Thu in Phung Cong has more than 700 pigs that must be sold early because of rising floodwaters. According to Ms. Thu, normally each pig must weigh at least 200 kg before being sold. However, due to the flood, they must be sold early to traders in Thai Binh , Hanoi, Hai Duong provinces... Currently, each pig weighs just over 100 kg, with an estimated loss of nearly 1 billion VND.
