With this increase, Vingroup's market capitalization reached VND594,489 billion, equivalent to an increase of nearly VND26,000 billion after just one trading session.
Thanks to that, Vingroup has surpassed Vietcombank to become the enterprise with the largest capitalization on the Vietnamese stock exchange.
On the other hand, VCB shares of Vietcombank continued to decrease by 1.4%, falling to 63,000 VND/unit. Capitalization accordingly decreased to 526,408 billion VND, holding the second position in the whole market.
Following VIC and VCB are the codes: Vinhomes (VHM), BIDV (BID), VietinBank (CTG), Techcombank (TCB), VPBank (VPB), Hoa Phat (HPG), MB (MBB) and FPT.
The surge of VIC shares has contributed to a significant increase in the net worth of shareholders. According to statistics from Forbes, the assets of Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup - increased by 655 million USD on September 19 alone, bringing his total assets to 15 billion USD.
Thanks to this development, he rose to 175th place in the list of world billionaires, up 12 places in just one day.
