Commentary on the master plan for the urban area of ​​Thong Nhat town, Yen Dinh district until 2045

On the morning of January 21, the Thanh Hoa Union of Science and Technology Associations (abbreviated as the Union) held a scientific workshop to review the "General urban planning project of Thong Nhat town, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province until 2045".

Based on the draft Planning and related documents sent by the People's Committee of Yen Dinh district to the Association; opinions of members of the Review Council and experts, the Association has developed a research report (for the purpose of introduction) to serve the scientific review workshop "Project to adjust the general planning of Thong Nhat town, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province to 2045".

The draft Structural Planning project consists of 7 parts, the planning content is clearly presented; the scope, boundaries, scale and basic objectives closely follow Decision No. 3577/QD-UBND dated September 4, 2024 of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on approving the task of making the General Planning of Thong Nhat town, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province until 2035.

At the workshop, delegates basically agreed with the "General urban planning project of Thong Nhat town, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province until 2045"; at the same time, they requested to clarify some contents related to the basis for planning, rearrange legal documents in accordance with regulations on the level of document issuance and time of document issuance.

Regarding natural conditions and current status, the project needs to more clearly evaluate the results after 10 years of implementing the planning of Thong Nhat town, especially the criteria and standards of type V urban areas; at the same time, adjust the contents in the previous planning.

The planning orientation, spatial development orientation, and urban design, according to some opinions, are not in accordance with regulations. Therefore, it is necessary to study and correct them, supplement them, evaluate the results achieved, and make new additions and adjustments to this planning.

The comments and assessments of the members of the Scientific Review Council and expert groups are the basis for the planning unit to revise and supplement the layout and complete the content to ensure scientificity and suitability with practical conditions, and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.
