According to the Hanoi Department of Health , electronic medical records contribute to standardizing medical examination and treatment data, enhancing connection and information sharing between levels, while reducing administrative procedures and improving treatment efficiency.
To operate the system effectively, hospitals have invested in modern facilities and equipment, ensuring connectivity and data exchange. In parallel, units have synchronously deployed hospital information management software, testing systems, imaging diagnostic systems, medical equipment connections, connections with social insurance agencies and the document management and operation systems of the Department of Health.

These platforms allow hospitals to comprehensively manage the process from admission, diagnosis, treatment, paraclinical to hospital payment. Thanks to digitalization, the time for processing records is shortened, and the accuracy in data management is increased.
The implementation of electronic medical records not only helps to reduce paperwork but also saves costs of printing, storage and human resources for managing records. This is also an important tool to support improving the quality of treatment. Doctors only need a few simple steps to access records, grasp medical history, paraclinical results and diagnostic images. From there, the diagnosis time is shortened, the accuracy of treatment is improved.
Any changes in treatment regimens are updated immediately, limiting the risk of errors and increasing patient safety. Digitalizing medical records also helps hospitals save significantly on operating costs, creating a foundation for the Hanoi health sector to move towards smart and comprehensive management.
