The province also mobilized more than VND293 billion to carry out many social security activities. In the period from 2021 to 2024, 34,000 poor, near-poor, and newly escaped-poverty households will receive preferential loans, with a total amount of up to VND1,700 billion, contributing to improving living conditions and developing family economy .
With the attention and support from sustainable poverty reduction policy programs , thousands of households in the province have risen out of poverty, stabilized their lives, the average number of poor households decreased by 0.24% per year, making Long An the second province in the Mekong Delta region in terms of poverty reduction.

According to the plan of coordination to support the construction and repair of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the province by 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the construction and repair of temporary and dilapidated houses for 122 households (36 poor households, 86 near-poor households) will be completed before April 30, 2025 with a total cost of 9.44 billion VND (114 households will be supported to build new houses and 8 households will be supported to repair).
Funds are mobilized from businesses, organizations, individuals, from the Provincial Fund for the Poor and use funds from the source of saving 5% of regular state budget expenditures in 2024.
