Rural development, socio -economic development, the Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction Program are bringing positive results in Lam Dong province. Especially in the communes in the province's mining areas, such as the area with Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV, Lam Dong Aluminum Company Limited - TKV has created stable jobs for many local workers.
Since the Bauxite project came into operation, Nhan Co commune, Lam Dong province has changed significantly: infrastructure is completed, services are developed, and people's lives have improved. From a purely agricultural commune with difficult traffic and a small economy, Nhan Co now has a bustling urban appearance. The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh - Nhan Co commune has opened a restaurant for more than 15 years. According to Ms. Trinh, for many years, her family's restaurant has always been crowded, not only serving local people but also welcoming many visitors. Ms. Trinh said: "Currently, many people from other localities come to buy land, build houses, invest in the economy and work as workers, so business is much more favorable than before."
According to Mr. Duong Quoc Thinh - a manager at Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV, currently, many local workers have stable jobs at the company, especially in ancillary services, contributing to increasing income and improving the lives of people in the region. Mr. Thinh said: "I have spent many years pursuing jobs at different companies, going through many job positions. Since being recruited by Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV, I have been working in the right field, my strengths, and my life has become more and more stable."
In villages and hamlets such as Pi Nao and Bu N'doh, electricity, roads, schools and stations have been invested in synchronously. Thanks to the completed and developed infrastructure, the cultivation of crops such as coffee, pepper, macadamia, durian, etc. has helped people's lives become more and more prosperous.
According to the planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Plan 866), in Lam Dong province, the planning is to process products including: superfine zircon powder, titanium slag, artificial rutile, reduced ilmenite, ZOC, pigment, ferro titanium/sponge titanium/metal titanium, monazite... with a total capacity of 1.1 - 1.5 million tons/year by 2030.
According to Plan 866, the total reserves and resources of bauxite ore in the province are about 7 billion tons of raw ore, accounting for 73% of the country's reserves. For titanium, the reserves are 566 million tons, accounting for 92.6% of the country's total reserves of titanium ore.
Forming economic dynamic zones
According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Ut - Director of Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade, with the above potential and advantages, Lam Dong province has determined that the development of bauxite and titanium mining and processing industry is an industry of utmost importance in socio-economic development, promoting economic restructuring, and boosting local industrial development. The mining industry has become an important driving force for economic growth in the coming time.
Along with industrial development, the trade, service and transportation sectors have also developed strongly, creating business opportunities for the people. In addition, the province and businesses also pay attention to supporting resettlement, vocational training, ensuring social security, helping people adapt to the new production environment.
Mining areas such as Nhan Co and Tan Rai today are not only major alumina industrial centers of Lam Dong but also bright spots in economic restructuring, from agriculture to industry and services. This comprehensive change is opening up a sustainable development direction for the land that had many difficulties in the past.
