As a trading hub in the Long Xuyen quadrangle, Long Xuyen Ward is gradually forming a value chain of production - processing - consumption of agricultural products associated with large raw material areas and an increasingly complete logistics system. In particular, Long Xuyen has the advantage of connecting traffic infrastructure when it is located along important waterways, and directly benefits from the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway and the ability to access Can Tho international airport. This convenient connection not only helps Long Xuyen expand its economic space but also creates conditions to strongly orient towards major economic centers, such as: Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, continue to strongly shift the economic structure towards high-quality trade and services, considering this as the key and spearhead sector. In particular, prioritize exploiting the potential of the "night economy", developing industries with high added value such as finance, banking, logistics, e-commerce, eco-tourism - experience in the direction of promoting the strengths of "river city"; build Long Xuyen into an urban medical center and a high-quality education and training center.
