
Although the dikes, embankments, culverts and pumping stations of Chu Van An ward are still operating stably, the sudden whirlwind at 4 a.m. on October 7 caused considerable damage to houses and facilities.
According to quick statistics from the ward People's Committee, the whole ward has 18 households with damaged houses, of which Tuong residential group has 17 households.
Many houses had their roofs blown off, allowing rainwater to pour directly into them; 2 chicken farms collapsed. The total damage to residential areas and households was estimated at 703 million VND.

Five schools and an old police station were flooded, had their roofs blown off, and many other structures were damaged, with an estimated loss of VND525 million. Several trees in the school grounds were uprooted and broken.
Total damage caused by storm No. 11 in Chu Van An ward was more than 1.2 billion VND.

The ward People's Committee has established two working groups to inspect and collect statistics, and at the same time directed the residential groups of Tuong and Trai Sen to mobilize local forces to support people in overcoming the consequences and temporarily repairing houses to ensure safety. Affected schools are also required to urgently repair the damage to soon stabilize teaching and learning.
Chu Van An Ward will continue to maintain on-duty mode, regularly monitor weather developments, check the irrigation system, and prepare response plans in case of emergency.
