
The earthquakes did not cause any human casualties but caused damage to buildings, especially educational facilities. Specifically, at Mang But 2 Primary and Secondary Boarding School, the tiled roof of the two-story main office was tilted and at risk of collapse; four boarding rooms had cracked walls and foundations, directly affecting the accommodation of 80 students. Authorities have evacuated all students, equipment, and documents from the affected area; blocked off, posted danger warning signs, and prohibited unauthorized persons from entering the area.
Mang But 1 Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has 10 classrooms with cracked walls. Mang But Kindergarten and Dak Lanh village school also have many cracks in the head office building and 4 classrooms. Some houses in the commune have recorded small cracks under the floor.

To ensure safety and stability of teaching and learning activities, the People's Committee of Mang But commune plans to urgently repair the roof of the principal's house of Mang But 2 Primary and Secondary Boarding School. At the same time, it is requested that the Provincial People's Committee consider supporting additional funding to repair structures damaged by the earthquake, ensuring stability of people's lives and operations of units.
According to the leader of Mang But Commune People's Committee, recently, Mang But Commune has recorded earthquakes, causing tremors, affecting people's psychology. The Commune has stepped up propaganda, issued more than 34,000 handbooks and leaflets on earthquake prevention and control, helping people improve their response skills.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, from 0:41 to 11:49 on October 6, in Mang Ri and Mang But communes ( Quang Ngai province), 15 earthquakes occurred, the largest of which had a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale, level 1 natural disaster risk, causing strong tremors.
