New regulations on uniforms commonly used by officers and professional soldiers

This Circular applies to officers; professional soldiers; relevant agencies, units and individuals; does not apply to subjects belonging to the Vietnam Coast Guard.

Winter uniform

Lined, long-sleeved, V-neck lapel jacket. Two buttonholes on each side of the collar with badges. The front has four raised pockets with buttoned flaps; the placket has four (4) buttons. The back has a slit at the back. The shoulder has shoulder straps with rank insignia. For officers and professional Navy soldiers, there are lines above the sleeves showing military rank.

Long dress pants, open-front zipper. Two diagonal pockets in front, two buttoned open pockets in back. Waistband with drawstring for belt loop.

Army and Border Guard dark olive

Air Defense-Air Force dark blue

Navy purple.

Female

Outer jacket, lined, sleeves, turn-down collar, two side badge buttons. Front body has a cutout from shoulder to hem, two diagonal pockets below; double-breasted placket, four buttons each. Back body has a slit at the back. Shoulder straps with rank badges. Detachable belt, buckle at the end.

For officers and professional Navy soldiers' shirts, above the sleeves there are borders showing military ranks.

Officer's and professional soldier's cap

Hat style

General

The cap has an oval top, with a yellow border around the top, and the Navy's is purple; the front has a visor, the top is covered with black velvet, and the visor edge is attached. Above the visor is a cord with glitter thread, with buttons at both ends. In the middle of the forehead of the cap is a goatee for wearing military insignia, and on both sides of the cap are two goatees for ventilation. The hat strap on the inside of the cap bridge is adjustable. The band woven into the cap bridge is woven with patterns.

Army: Dark olive cap peak, red cap bridge

Border Guard: Dark olive cap peak, dark green cap bridge

Air Defense - Air Force: Dark blue cap top, blue peace cap side

Navy: White cap top, purple cap side.

Colonel, Lieutenant

The hat has an oval top, with a slanted border of the same color around the top; the front has a black faux leather visor, with a brim attached. Above the visor is a woven cord, with buttons attached at both ends. In the middle of the forehead of the hat is a goatee for wearing military insignia, and on both sides of the hat are two goatees for ventilation. The hat strap on the inside of the hat bridge is adjustable. The band woven into the hat bridge is woven in a horizontal pattern.
