That emotional moment quickly spread on social networks, receiving hundreds of thousands of views and blessings from the online community as soon as A80 ended.
The most beautiful milestone of the Fatherland is also the most beautiful milestone of the couple on the occasion of A80
Sharing the reason for choosing this special time to propose, Lieutenant Tran Van Nhanh confided: “Because this is an important day for the country, the day the Fatherland is complete in peacetime. I want to take this as a beautiful milestone for the country as well as a beautiful milestone for the two of us. Later, on September 2, we will have both the pride of the Fatherland and the joy of love. The joy is doubled.”

To prepare for the special moment, Mr. Nhanh prepared a bouquet of flowers of the type his girlfriend loved, along with a wedding-shaped hairpin to mark the rare moment. In particular, he also asked his teammates to help him weave hands to make a welcome gate, so that the two of them could walk through it together in happiness.
Nguyen Si Phuong Mai (25 years old) was surprised to receive a marriage proposal right after the parade. Touched by her boyfriend's sincere feelings, she shed tears and nodded in agreement amidst cheers and congratulations from everyone around.
“She was so surprised that she burst into tears. But when I proposed, she immediately nodded. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life,” Lieutenant Tran Van Nhanh happily said.
The couple met through a special fate. Phuong Mai is the younger sister of his best friend. From friendship and sympathy, the two gradually became attached and have been together for nearly 3 years now.
During their love journey, there were memories that made both of them cherish even more. Anh Nhanh shared: “The most memorable memory was at the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification on April 30 (A50), when I completed my mission, you were there to celebrate with me. At the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (A80) this time, I decided to choose that important day to propose.”
The proposal right after the parade attracted much attention. It was not only a sweet moment for the young couple, but also evoked the love of the couple combined with the love of the homeland and the Fatherland on this special occasion.
Proud and honored to complete mission A80
Born and raised in a family with a military tradition, Lieutenant Tran Van Nhanh was exposed to the military environment from a young age. Both his parents, both paternal and maternal, served in the military, and he considered it a source of pride and motivation to continue.
“After completing the A80 mission, my first feeling was very happy, very proud and extremely honored,” he shared.

Recalling the arduous training days for the A80 parade, he shared that the most difficult thing during the training process was the uniformity of a large group of people. He had been in the A50 before, but when the A80 had many new comrades, keeping the formation neat and the movements steady was not easy. Therefore, he just tried to patiently guide and encourage everyone to progress together.
Despite the pressure and harsh training intensity, the motivation for Nhanh and his teammates to overcome is the pride of wearing the military uniform.
“For soldiers, nothing is impossible. Our ancestors shed blood to gain peace , so in peacetime we are ready to sweat to write beautiful pages of history for the country,” said Nhanh.
For Lieutenant Tran Van Nhanh, the days spent with his teammates during training and the A80 parade were not only a responsibility, but also the most memorable memories of his youth.
The best memories are the first and final rehearsals. After each rehearsal, the teammates come back together to tell each other how the formation went, what was uneven, and what needed to be adjusted. Then the whole unit gives each other feedback and corrections to do better the next day.
“If the young generation is given the opportunity to wear the soldier’s uniform, they should dedicate themselves to the Fatherland. Our ancestors stood up to fight the enemy and win back our country, so in times of peace we must appreciate and protect it even more,” said Lieutenant Tran Van Nhanh.
