Launching book about the life, background and career of King Quang Trung

The National Political Publishing House, Truth, has just published the book Quang Trung - National Hero (1788 - 1792) by historian and literary researcher Hoang Thuc Tram, whose pen name is Hoa Bang.

The book consists of nearly 400 pages, divided into 4 parts: Uprising, Northern Advance, Foreign Affairs and Domestic Affairs , vividly depicting the life, background and career of King Quang Trung, as well as the military , political, diplomatic and cultural achievements of the Tay Son period.

Under the flexible and attractive pen of Hoa Bang, along with valuable and rich new documents, the stature and talent of Emperor Quang Trung appear extremely vividly, clarified by the author with accurate comments and assessments.

This is one of the excellent works on Vietnamese history, first published in 1944, and has been reprinted many times by many different publishers.

In order to continue to preserve, inherit, continue and promote the heroic historical tradition of the Tay Son movement and to show respect and gratitude for the contributions of the hero "cloth shirt and red flag", "intelligent and brave", Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, the National Political Publishing House Truth published the book Quang Trung - National Hero (1788 - 1792).

The book's content is taken from the 1998 edition provided by the UNESCO Center for Information on Vietnamese History and Culture.

Writing the introduction to the book, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Ngoc Lien, member of the Scientific Council of the UNESCO Center for Information on Vietnamese History and Culture, said that with the book Quang Trung - National Hero , Hoa Bang has set a solid milestone that no one can forget when wanting to continue researching the Tay Son uprising and the Tay Son dynasty.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Ta Ngoc Lien, all of the military, political, diplomatic and cultural achievements of the Tay Son period as well as the stature and talent of Nguyen Hue were clarified and accurately evaluated by Hoa Bang through this important work. Hoa Bang's writing about the hero Nguyen Hue is very fresh, flexible, attractive and captivating to readers.
