At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Quang Hiep, Chairman of Hiep Thanh Commune People's Committee, said: After merging the three communes of Hiep Thanh, Hiep An and Lien Hiep into the new Hiep Thanh commune, it has a total area of 127.20 km² and a population of 51,310 people, including nearly 10,000 ethnic minorities living together.

Hiep Thanh Commune possesses many outstanding development advantages with a favorable geographical location, located on key traffic routes such as National Highway 20, Provincial Road 27 and Lien Khuong - Da Lat Expressway. Abundant labor resources, along with a diverse business system including 260 small and medium enterprises, 16 cooperatives and more than 5,300 business households, create a vibrant economic foundation.

The Chairman of Hiep Thanh Commune said that the post-merger government apparatus quickly stabilized and operated effectively. Public administrative activities had many positive changes; facilities and working equipment were fully equipped. The economic situation was stable, and the commodity market had no major fluctuations. Other areas such as social security, national defense and security, disease prevention, forest protection and fire prevention were all implemented synchronously and achieved positive results.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the efforts of the government and people of Hiep Thanh commune. The Minister emphasized the outstanding advantages of the locality, especially the potential for high-tech agricultural development.
Besides, the Minister requested localities to review problems, especially in the field of industry and trade, to find timely solutions.
