On the afternoon of October 15, Vice Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor Huynh Dang Chinh, spoke with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters about the results of a meeting to inspect and review the error of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology logo being pasted over and completely covering the logo and label of the Chinese robot manufacturer. According to Associate Professor Chinh, the school determined that this was an "unintentional" error.
Visitors to the A80 exhibition were excited about the two-legged robot that Hanoi University of Science and Technology brought to demonstrate.

The meeting had stakeholders, including the Science and Technology Department, which is in charge of bringing the equipment to the A80 exhibition, and representatives of businesses from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, RPMEC (RPMEC is the unit that develops new features on the bipedal robot TRON 1 of LimX, China).
The meeting clarified three issues. First, the origin of the equipment and its intended use. Second, the sticking of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology logo on top of the manufacturer’s logo and label. Third, the responsibility of relevant officers and units.
Regarding the second incident, the school acknowledged that this was an unfortunate incident, but also explained that the stamp with the school logo was simply for the purpose of "marking" the property. This was a mistake, but it was unintentional, not intentional.
According to Associate Professor Chinh, the robot is displayed in the area introducing learning, practice and research and development conditions for lecturers and students. This area has the participation of many different agencies and training units.
"In the long-term exhibition conditions, with too many visitors, many units marked the exhibits for management and preservation. The exhibition department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology used paper stamps with the school's logo to stick on all exhibits, including the bipedal robot, for management and preservation. At that time, there was an error in sticking the paper stamp on the bipedal robot at the position of the product's logo," Associate Professor Chinh said.
Associate Professor Chinh also shared: "Although there was a leaflet introducing the robot's features at the exhibition area, the use of Hanoi University of Science and Technology logo stamps to mark for preservation has caused some visitors to misunderstand, which is regrettable. The school sincerely thanks Thanh Nien Newspaper readers for their attention and comments, and will seriously accept and learn from their experiences for similar events."
Accidental violation
In response to a Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter's question about whether the act of pasting the logo of Hanoi University of Science and Technology over the logo of the manufacturer, even though "accidental", was a violation of the integrity principles of exhibition staff, Associate Professor Chinh said that the school did not see any such signs.
According to Associate Professor Chinh, information about the two-legged robot was introduced at the exhibition area. Specifically, the introduction clearly stated that this is a two-legged robot with mechanical parts legally imported for the purpose of development, training, research and transfer.
Based on the imported bipedal robot, the research team led by lecturers from Hanoi University of Science and Technology has developed new control algorithms, giving the robot new features, with specific results such as: improving stability when moving on complex terrain; increasing the ability to adapt to changing heights; and developing algorithms to help the robot climb curved stairs.
In training, the research team has built software and professional documents to help lecturers and students directly program, integrate AI and control motion. The display location is in the area with product content related to student training, practical training, etc., not to display technology products for commercialization.
Regarding the third content, Associate Professor Chinh said that the leaders of Hanoi University of Science and Technology have severely criticized the relevant departments for the negligence of pasting the property marking stamp on the manufacturer's logo on the 2-legged robot device. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has also reported to the competent authorities.
However, Associate Professor Chinh did not respond to Thanh Nien Newspaper about the specific responsibilities and how to handle the related officers. According to Associate Professor Chinh, the exhibition took place for many days, the officers took turns on duty in shifts, each shift had many people on duty, it was difficult to determine who performed the "marking" act, and in which shift.
"Other people also violate the law unintentionally. When sticking the school logo on the artifacts, they choose the most convenient and fastest way. So when sticking the label on the two-legged robot, they accidentally stick it in a recognizable and easy-to-stick position, not intentionally covering the manufacturer's logo," Associate Professor Chinh said.
