At first glance, this zero-emission Rolls-Royce Spectre may seem like just another Spectre in a paint color rarely seen on Rolls-Royces today. However, the important thing is the story of the car's creation, as well as the detailed markings on the exterior and interior. Inspired by Bailey, the Labrador-Golden Retriever, the Spectre on your screen faithfully replicates the footprints of the wealthy man who commissioned Rolls-Royce to create this one-of-a-kind creation – both inside and out.
Footprints along the coachline on the side are hand-painted in rose gold, a tone that matches the Spirit of Ecstasy emblem on the front of the car. Finished in bespoke Crystal Fusion over Beautiful Bailey leather, this one-of-a-kind Spectre also pays tribute to man’s best friend with Dark Spice and Casden Tan accents for the Moccasin and Creme Light interiors. Both Casden Tan and Beautiful Bailey were inspired by the customer’s own dog. The interior, finished in high-gloss Royal Walnut veneer, also features a mosaic portrait of Bailey in a waterfall between the luxurious rear seats. This intricate work of art took no less than four months to complete, with over 180 pieces of veneer used. Bailey’s tongue alone required four brand new Rolls-Royce veneers.
They’re called Pear, Louro Faia, Tulipwood, and Purple Heart. A smaller paw print mosaic is placed on the passenger side of the dashboard. The paw print theme continues on the rose gold door sills. In true Rolls-Royce fashion, the British automaker hasn’t yet released any pricing information for these truly heartwarming, personalized touches. Suffice it to say, the Rolls-Royce Spectre will start at nearly $400,000 in the US. The more premium Black Badge version will cost closer to $470,000 before options, meaning a modestly optioned Spectre will retail for half a million dollars. Developed by BMW, the Spectre is built at Goodwood on the Architecture of Luxury platform, which debuted with the Phantom and has since been adopted across the Rolls-Royce range. The Phantom, the smaller Ghost, and the Cullinan all use powerful V12 engines and eight-speed automatic transmissions from ZF.
A twin-motor electric grand tourer with 2+2 seats, the Spectre, due in 2023, is the brand's first production electric car, launched in Napa Valley rather than somewhere closer to England, and weighs almost 3 tonnes. The Rolls-Royce Spectre has an electric motor that produces a maximum output of 577 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. Rolls-Royce's first electric car can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds before reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The car can run 515 km according to the EPA's test cycle in the US, meaning it can travel from Saigon to Nha Trang after just one full charge.
