Accelerate the entire route

At the construction site of the 11.5km-long Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway, more than 300 officers, engineers, workers, and more than 100 vehicles and mechanical equipment work continuously every day. The contractors divide dozens of construction teams day and night, prioritizing key items such as roadbed, service roads, bridge and drainage systems, asphalt pavement, etc.

The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board - the project investor, said that construction units have increased their workforce, working 3 shifts/day to ensure the set progress. Construction items must be synchronized, not allowing any technical bottlenecks to affect the progress of the entire route.

Present at the construction site these days, walking along the highway, reporters recorded the urgent and bustling construction atmosphere. Under the direction of the joint venture contractor Truong Son Construction Corporation - CTGT Construction Corporation 5 - JSC - 17 LLC, hundreds of machines such as road rollers, bulldozers, paving machines, hot asphalt mixing stations operate continuously at each construction site. Work teams are divided into shifts day and night to ensure the progress of the road surface, drainage system, overpasses, underpasses and auxiliary items are completed simultaneously.

The representative of the XL1 consortium said: “We are working day and night to meet the deadline for handing over the entire route on August 19. Difficult sections, weak foundations, and sections that are often affected by wind and rain are also given priority to be handled first so as not to delay the project…”.

At the construction site of the Hoang Van Thai overpass, worker Nguyen Van Toan said: “Since the directive to shorten the construction time from November 2025 to August 2025, all of us workers have stayed at the construction site, divided into 3 shifts continuously during the day, maintaining the highest intensity from then until now.” Meanwhile, worker Pham Dat, from Quang Tri , said that he has not returned to his hometown for several months because he has to work overtime for the project…

The representative of the Truong Son Central Committee, Truong Son Construction Corporation said that construction items such as overpasses, asphalt pavements, and service roads are entering the final stage. The difficulty is the weather, but all forces are determined to finish on time. Meanwhile, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project is invested on the basis of upgrading and expanding the National Highway 1A bypass, both under construction and in operation, so ensuring traffic safety for vehicles traveling on the route is always a top priority.

Determined to reach the finish line on time

With the goal of striving for technical traffic opening on August 19, the project has been urged to speed up construction, from the investor to the contractor, all are "stretching" on the project. While the investor regularly checks and closely supervises each item, requires the contractor to strengthen safety and quality work and speed up construction of the slow sections, the contractor also makes efforts to supplement machinery, vehicles, human resources and organizes the simultaneous construction of many project items in 3 shifts/day, including Saturdays and Sundays...

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is the final section connecting the La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway, playing an important role in completing the North - South traffic axis in the west, while helping to reduce the load on National Highway 1A through the Central region. With a length of about 11.5km, the project resumed construction in mid-2023 after a long interruption and is currently entering the final stage.

With the enthusiastic competitive spirit at the construction site, and consensus from the Central to local levels, the project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic on August 19, creating a strong boost for the Central region's traffic infrastructure system in the coming time.

Mr. Ta Gia Manh Hung, Executive Director of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Project, said that, implementing the Prime Minister 's direction, in recent times, the investor and units have accelerated construction, focused on mobilizing machinery, vehicles, human resources, materials, etc. and organized the simultaneous construction of many project items in 3 shifts per day.

With 2 interconnecting traffic intersections, 11 bridges, 8 underpasses, 62 culverts of various types, 2 parallel service roads with a total length of more than 20km, the project has a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND from the State budget. Construction started in September 2023, according to the signed contract, this project will be completed and put into operation in November 2025.

At a recent construction site inspection, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board emphasized: No reason must be allowed to affect the progress of handing over the entire route before August 19, 2025. Therefore, dividing into 3 continuous shifts per day, maintaining the highest construction intensity must always be applied.

Despite many difficulties in weather and terrain, the entire force needs to clearly state their determination to reach the finish line on time. Because, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway completed on schedule will not only help quickly connect Da Nang with the southern provinces, but also contribute to reducing the load on National Highway 1A, promoting the development of rural areas west of the city.
