On September 13, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Buddhist Academy presented the Phat Quang Bookcase with more than 1,000 books to students at 5 schools in Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.
The schools receiving the bookcases include: Minh Khai Secondary School, Luong Khanh Thien Secondary School, Binh Luc Secondary School ( Ninh Binh province), Thanh Lan Primary School (Dao Tran branch) and Kim Dong Primary School (Quang Ninh province).
The books include textbooks, reference books, research books, literature books, and many documents on life, culture, agriculture, economic development, etc. This is an activity to spread reading culture, encourage self-study spirit and contribute to building a learning society.



Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi, said that donating the Phat Quang Bookcase not only encourages reading habits in the community, especially among the young generation, but also demonstrates the spirit of compassion and wisdom of Buddhism in serving the community, improving people's knowledge and developing education.
The book donation ceremony is part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. The event was attended by many dignitaries of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, along with representatives of agencies and sectors such as the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Religions and Ethnic Minorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, a large number of scholars, Buddhists and more than 850 monks and nuns.
After the first Doctorate in Buddhist Studies was awarded to Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang, dharma name Thich Dao Tan in 2023, today, the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi has just awarded the second Doctorate in Buddhist Studies to Venerable Thich Minh Nghia (Truong Thanh Hai).
Professor Luong Gia Tinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi, said that since 2018, the academy has been allowed to train PhD students. To date, there have been 57 PhD students.

In addition to the PhD degree of Venerable Thich Minh Nghia, there was also a student who completed his Master's thesis, and 46 monks and nuns graduated from the Buddhist college. 7 students with excellent achievements received certificates of merit from the rector of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi.
At the event, Labor Hero Thai Huong, Founder and Chairwoman of TH Group's Strategy Council, presented the scholarship fund of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi with VND500 million./.
