According to local people, at around 4am the same day, the water level outside the 1/5 canal rose, creating great pressure that caused the underground sewer to collapse through the dike along the east bank. This is a dike combined with a rural road that has been invested in by the State to be paved. Under the pressure of the strong water flow, the soil in the sewer was hollowed out, and water quickly flooded into the agricultural land area.

Fortunately, the landslide area has not yet been planted with the winter-spring rice crop; however, the neighboring Group 1 area has more than 80 hectares of 2025-2026 winter-spring rice that was just planted a few days ago, and is at risk of being flooded if water flows deep into the fields.

According to Chairman of Tan Hung Commune People's Committee Phan Hoa Nong, immediately after the incident occurred, Tan Hung Commune authorities mobilized militia, police and local people to quickly come to the scene to fix the problem. The forces used cajuput trees, earth bags, tarpaulins and machinery to block the drain outside the canal, preventing water from continuing to flow into the fields.

Thanks to the urgent coordination and efforts of the forces, by noon of the same day, the manhole was temporarily blocked, minimizing the risk of flooding, protecting the safety of the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring rice area in Group 1's area.

In addition to the above incident, from October 10th until now, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain combined with water from the upper Mekong River flowing into the dike, some agricultural production areas in Vinh Chau, Vinh Thanh, Hung Dien communes, Tay Ninh province have been flooded. To respond promptly, localities have mobilized militia forces to coordinate with the people to overcome the incident.

In Hung Dien commune, a dike section of more than 2km long was flooded. The Military Command of Hung Dien commune promptly mobilized 30 officers and soldiers along with tools to transport soil to reinforce the dike. With the determination not to let the rising water submerge the people's crops, hundreds of cubic meters of soil were promptly transported by soldiers to successfully prevent the dike from overflowing. In addition, many field pumps were deployed to pump water from inside the dike area out.

In Vinh Chau commune, many crop growing areas with an area of over 200 hectares of rice and fruit trees were also threatened by the rapidly rising floodwaters. The Vinh Chau Commune Military Command quickly sent forces to transport soil to key locations to reinforce the dike to prevent the dike from breaking.

In Vinh Thanh commune, more than 14 hectares of rice were submerged in water. Militia, police and local people took advantage of the opportunity to harvest. After more than 2 days of actively racing against the floodwaters, more than 2 hectares of rice were safely brought ashore by the forces./.
