Instead of turning right onto Giai Phong Street and then going to Kim Dong Street to turn around (about 1 km detour), from now until December 2024, passenger buses after leaving Giap Bat station will be able to go straight onto Giai Phong Street to get to the highway.

Mr. Ngo Quoc Cuong, Captain of the Hoang Mai Traffic Inspection Team, Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate, said that this will help reduce traffic volume entering the Giai Phong - Kim Dong intersection and Kim Dong street, and help passenger buses departing from the station to get to the highway faster.

The above traffic adjustment and diversion plan only applies to inter-provincial passenger buses, while public passenger buses are still allowed to turn right to enter the inner city.

The addition of a traffic light on Giai Phong Street in front of Giap Bat bus station makes traffic through here slower, but it is suitable for the traffic situation and the construction of an underpass at the Giai Phong - Kim Dong intersection.

Along with that, during the time when there are many buses departing from the station, the movement of passenger buses to Giai Phong street is more difficult than usual.

The difficulty of traveling in the area in front of Giap Bat station gate is also due to the fact that some passenger buses stop to pick up passengers right on the road after leaving the station. After more than a week of implementing the new plan to regulate and separate passenger and bus departures, a representative of Giap Bat bus station said that it has ensured the safe departure of more than 7,000 passenger vehicles and more than 15,000 buses.
