On Lac Long Quan Street (Tay Ho District, Hanoi), vendors sell a lot of wild pear flowers, attracting people in the capital to come and enjoy and shop.
Wild pear flowers are grown in many northern mountainous provinces such as: Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Ha Giang , Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Lao Cai...
Five-petal pear blossoms burst from rough branches, creating a wild yet pure beauty.
Unlike other flowers, pear flowers bloom in many batches, each batch from 10 to 15 days. If you buy branches with many buds, you can enjoy them for 1 to 2 months.
Many people took souvenir photos next to the pure white wild pear blossoms.
The price of each wild pear flower branch ranges from several hundred thousand dong to millions of dong, depending on the shape of the branch. The more moss and lichen on the branch, the higher the price.
According to traders, this year the price of pear flowers in the capital has cooled down about 30% compared to previous years.
Most pear trees sold in the capital are usually partially sawn off to suit the height and area of the house.
Ms. Trinh and Ms. Dung (Ba Dinh district) were excited to buy pear blossom branches at a fairly cheap price, only 60,000 VND/branch. "Every year I buy pear blossoms to enjoy after Tet. I usually choose to buy 3 small branches to put together," Ms. Dung shared.
The merchant offered a cluster of 5 small pear blossom branches for 200,000 VND.
A flower player chose a satisfactory wild pear branch to display in his house after the Lunar New Year for 600,000 VND.
With pure white color, pear blossoms bring a different atmosphere to decorate Hanoi streets after Lunar New Year.
