Many traders said that pear flowers usually bloom after Tet, in the mountainous regions of the Northwest such as Lai Chau , Son La, Lang Son...

However, this year the pear blossoms are not as beautiful as usual, so sellers do not dare to import much. The price of wild pears is therefore higher.

"The price of wild pears has almost doubled. In recent years, the demand for pear flowers has increased, so they have been overexploited, so beautiful products are becoming increasingly scarce," said a trader.

"From the imported pear branches, we have to cut off excess and bad branches because customers who buy wild pears are usually very picky. Bad branches with few buds are never chosen," this person added.

According to a survey, the price of each wild pear branch is fluctuating between 2 - 3 million VND/branch, larger branches cost 4 - 5 million VND/branch.

Pear flowers usually bloom in many batches, each batch lasting 10 - 15 days, with pear branches with many buds that can last for 1 - 2 months, so many people do not hesitate to spend a few million dong to bring the pure white color of the mountains and forests home.

A customer who bought a pear branch for more than 2 million VND said: "Last year I bought a wild pear branch like this for just a little over 1 million VND, but this year the price has almost doubled, and the appearance is not as beautiful."

Besides pear blossoms, white peach blossoms are also sold in large quantities. "I imported these white peach branches directly from Lang Son . Before Tet, I sold each branch for more than 3 million VND. However, after Tet, people's demand decreased, so each peach branch only costs more than 1 million VND," said a seller.

Plum and peach bundles are sold for 80,000 - 100,000 VND/bunch, and are also hot-selling items after Tet.

Previously, wild peach branches were sold for nearly 2 million VND, but after Tet, the price was only 700,000 - 800,000 VND/branch.

After Tet, peach blossom branches are still sought after by people to play on the full moon day of the first lunar month. The price of small peach blossom branches is from 100,000 - 200,000 VND/branch, large peach blossom branches are from 300,000 - 500,000 VND/branch.
