On October 4, German technology group Siemens officially launched the SICHARGE FLEX product line - a new generation distributed electric vehicle (EV) charging system, designed to be flexible, reliable and cost-effective, suitable for many different usage models.

As the need for robust and efficient electric vehicle charging infrastructure grows, SICHARGE FLEX is seen as a flexible solution that can adapt to a variety of models – from fleets and parking lots to roadside charging points.

Unlike fixed, single-purpose charging systems, SICHARGE FLEX offers a flexible and dynamic approach that optimizes operational performance while protecting long-term investment value for operators and businesses.

The SICHARGE FLEX charging system can be adapted to a wide range of models - from fleets and parking lots to roadside charging points.

SICHARGE FLEX sets new standards in technical performance and operational flexibility. At the heart of the system is dynamic power distribution technology, which is capable of intelligently and automatically distributing power to each charging point according to the actual needs of the vehicle.

All power groups can be flexibly routed to any charging head, in any configuration – ensuring power is delivered to the right place, at the right time.

The system supports a wide power range, from 480 kW to more than 1.68 megawatts, allowing charging points to deliver power in 80 or 120 kW steps. This ensures optimal and efficient distribution of electricity, exactly where it is needed.

SICHARGE FLEX is compatible with both CCS and MCS standards, and can accommodate up to four MCS charging points. With the ability to deliver up to 1,500 A of current via the MCS charging head, the system can provide ultra-fast charging for large electric vehicles such as heavy trucks, urban buses and long-distance buses.

The SICHARGE FLEX charging system has one of the highest power densities in the industry, allowing for high charging capacity in extremely compact spaces - up to 656 kW per square meter. Thanks to the front-in, first-out cooling system, the device can be installed close to the wall, optimizing space in environments with limited space.

In addition, the system is very flexible: the charging heads can be placed up to 300m away from the central power cabinet. Depending on the needs, the charging heads can be installed on the floor (requiring only 0.1m² of space for CCS and 0.2m² for MCS), mounted on the wall, or hung from above, making it easy to adapt to any type of installation location.

According to Mr. Markus Mildner, CEO eMobility, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, the launch of SICHARGE FLEX marks an important milestone in the journey to build a comprehensive and sustainable e-Mobility ecosystem.

“This solution demonstrates our vision for a future where electric vehicle charging is not only fast and reliable, but also seamlessly integrated and operationally efficient. SICHARGE FLEX gives customers the confidence to scale their operations, optimize their energy use and contribute to a cleaner, more electrified world ,” said a Siemens representative.

SICHARGE FLEX is developed according to Siemens' "Security by Design" principle, integrating core cybersecurity measures such as data encryption during storage and transmission, and a secure boot mechanism to protect data and ensure system integrity. The system's design also supports load balancing for the grid, contributing to improving the stability and sustainability of the energy infrastructure.
