Summary of consumer rights protection activities in the first 6 months of 2025

BDK.VN - On June 19, 2025, the Consumer Rights Protection Association held a conference to review activities in the first 6 months of 2025, evaluating the coordination program between the Consumer Rights Protection Association, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and businesses for the period 2023-2025.

Chairwoman of the Association for Consumer Protection Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh reported on the preliminary summary of activities in the first 6 months of 2025.

According to the general assessment, the progress of the association's implementation of the tasks of protecting consumer rights in the first 6 months of 2025 ensures the time and content set out. The association carries out propaganda and education on the law to protect consumer rights, coordinates with units and socio -political organizations to carry out activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day (March 15) and responds to the National Week of Tobacco Harm Prevention (May 31).

In particular, the survey and labeling of some essential goods circulating in the market has been carried out. The Association has surveyed 238 products belonging to the groups of essential goods, spices, confectionery, rice at 18 traditional markets. Thereby, it was initially discovered that goods without origin accounted for 42.9%, the most being rice 77.6%, traditional confectionery 65.7%, products without production date, expiry date, no warning information, instructions for use, instructions for preservation, quantitative ingredients...

Faced with the situation of counterfeit, fake, poor quality goods, some services operating illegally, seriously infringing on the rights and legitimate interests of consumers, the Provincial Consumer Protection Association has sent an Official Dispatch to relevant departments and branches requesting them to carry out market control, inspection and examination work to inform consumers.

The Association has also carried out social criticism, consultation, mediation to protect consumer rights, and implemented a coordination program with businesses on "Responsible business, safe consumption in the new situation in the period of 2023-2025", contributing to promoting the business culture for consumers of businesses, building a healthy and sustainable consumption and business environment. At the same time, it actively connects and introduces reputable addresses and products of businesses so that consumers can access high-quality Vietnamese goods, stable prices, and safe shopping.

In particular, since the signing of the coordination program between the Association for the Protection of Consumer Rights, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province and 11 enterprises, the Association has not received any complaints from consumers related to the enterprises participating in the coordination program. This affirms the initial spread and effectiveness of the coordination program "Responsible business, safe consumption in the new situation in the period of 2023-2025".

In the coming time, the Association will continue to effectively implement the Law on Consumer Protection in 2023, and plans to carry out assigned tasks to protect consumer rights. Specifically: continue to organize legal propaganda activities, receive, advise, support, and reconcile complaints and requests from consumers, synthesize, analyze, evaluate, and publish survey results on product labels in circulation at traditional markets. In addition, reorganize the association, commune-level member focal points, and perfect the association's executive committee in the new situation.
