Soon upgrade the A Pa Chai (Dien Bien) - Long Phu (China) opening into a bilateral border gate

On October 29, in Pu'er City (Yunnan Province, China), a meeting took place between the delegation of the Pu'er Border Management Team, Muong Khang Immigration Border Inspection Station (China) and the delegation of the Border Guard Command of Dien Bien Province (Vietnam).

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and evaluated the results achieved in coordination in border and border gate management; combating cross-border crimes and activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-China Friendship Post.

The two sides discussed and agreed to strengthen exchanges and coordination with forces to promote, soon complete and officially open the bilateral border gate A Pa Chai (Vietnam) - Long Phu (China). This is considered one of the key political tasks of Dien Bien province. Up to now, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have made great efforts in completing documents and procedures. The province has completed the steps, including: field survey, assessment of the actual situation, determination and agreement on specific coordinates, talks between the two provinces and reporting the proposal to upgrade the opening.

It is expected that by the end of 2025, the border gate will be put into operation, the connection location of A Pa Chai - Long Phu border gate is located in the area from Marker No. 02 to Marker No. 03 of the Vietnam - China land border (bordering Sin Thau commune, Muong Nhe district).

After being upgraded, the A Pa Chai - Long Phu opening will operate all days of the week, carrying out international trade and transporting goods, creating favorable conditions for the economic and social development of each locality.

In addition, at the talks, the two sides agreed to continue to deepen the law enforcement cooperation mechanism in the "Green Triangle" area (trilateral cooperation area); coordinate in disseminating bilateral laws, popularizing legal education to people on both sides of the border; enhance innovation in information exchange by announcing daily news, expanding information exchange channels, especially information on subjects, cases, and transnational criminal activities; establish a mechanism for quick notification, reception and handover.

The two sides will maximize the resources of border management agencies and affiliated grassroots units to strengthen joint border patrol and control activities; jointly maintain immigration and exit order; further improve the capacity to respond to emergency situations to ensure security and order; promote cultural and sports exchanges, further expand the "Friendship Station - Company" twinning activities to contribute to enhancing and strengthening the spirit of friendship and goodwill between the border protection forces of the two sides.
