On September 21, in Beijing, the Vietnamese Embassy in China coordinated with the China-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Center to organize the Vietnam-China Tourism and Investment Promotion Forum with the participation of Embassy leaders, leaders of Vietnamese localities such as Nghe An, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh, the China-ASEAN Center, as well as about 250 delegates representing businesses in the fields of electronics, real estate, agricultural product import and export, tourism, and banking of the two countries.

According to a VNA reporter in Beijing, in his opening speech at the forum, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said the forum was held in the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.

The 75-year historical milestone is a vivid proof of the tradition of friendship “both comrades and brothers” that previous generations of leaders have worked hard to cultivate. The Party and State of Vietnam always consider developing friendly relations with China as a strategic choice and top priority in its overall foreign policy.

The two sides' top leaders agreed to build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance, with the connotation of "6 more" and emphasized strengthening deep substantive cooperation in various fields, including cooperation between businesses and localities of the two countries.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that the potential for investment and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China in the coming time is still very large. Regarding investment, Vietnam encourages Chinese enterprises to expand cooperation and increase investment in areas where China has strengths and Vietnam has high demand and priority, such as innovation, green growth, digital transformation, renewable energy, clean energy, smart cities, high-quality manufacturing industry, construction of road and railway infrastructure, health care, education , etc.

Regarding tourism, Vietnam always welcomes Chinese tourists to visit Vietnam, experience beautiful nature, long-standing historical traditions, rich culture, friendly and hospitable people and highly safe environment.

Introducing the potential and unique strengths of Vietnamese localities, including Nghe An, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh provinces, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh believes that the forum is a great opportunity for Chinese enterprises to introduce the potential, advantages and preferential policies of Nghe An, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh provinces in attracting investment and promoting tourism, as well as to directly discuss issues of concern. This is also an opportunity for localities, associations and enterprises of both sides to directly connect and form specific cooperation projects.

The Vietnamese Embassy in China pledges to accompany and effectively support cooperation activities, creating the most favorable conditions for exchanges between localities and businesses of the two countries.

According to Secretary General of the China-ASEAN Center Shi Zhongjun, cooperation between the two countries has both a profound historical tradition and practical common interests, and the prospects for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two sides are vast.

The two sides need to continue to expand both the depth and breadth of cross-border tourism cooperation; increase investment in green and digital economy, and actively promote cooperation in areas such as connectivity and artificial intelligence; deepen humanities exchanges and talent cooperation, expand exchanges in the fields of education, training, youth, culture, etc., encourage businesses of both countries to strengthen human resource training and technology transfer, and support talents for practical cooperation, etc.

At the same time, optimize the business environment and cooperation mechanisms, continuously improve foreign investment policies and regulations, enhance policy transparency and stability, give full play to the role of existing mechanisms and platforms, and promote policy exchanges and business connections.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Truong Ngoc Tinh, Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products (CCCME), affirmed that as an important social organization in China's mechanical and electrical industry, CCME always actively builds a platform for exchange and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.

Mr. Truong Ngoc Tinh said that this forum attracted government and business representatives from Nghe An, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh provinces and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam, which clearly demonstrated the desire of all parties to strengthen Vietnam-China investment cooperation, while laying a solid foundation for the two sides to carry out more diverse and in-depth exchange and cooperation activities in the coming time.

The CCCME Chairman hopes that Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises will consider this event as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and together create a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win.

At the forum, representatives of Nghe An, Quang Tri and Tay Ninh provinces introduced their potential, opportunities and investment and business environment in the fields of economics, tourism, etc.; hoping that through this investment promotion forum, they would promote the potential of the provinces as well as invite Chinese enterprises to increase investment in areas of strength.

Appreciating Vietnam's investment environment as well as cooperation opportunities between businesses of the two countries, Chinese business representatives hope to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the coming time in the fields of tourism, high-quality manufacturing, artificial intelligence, telecommunications infrastructure, etc. Thereby contributing positively to trade and investment turnover between the two countries.

According to statistics presented at the forum, from 2024 - the first year Vietnam and China implemented agreements and common perceptions after upgrading bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation continued to achieve impressive results.

Two-way trade reached 206 billion USD according to Vietnam's statistics and 262 billion USD according to China's statistics. In the first 8 months of 2025, two-way trade continued to achieve impressive results with turnover reaching 159.9 billion USD, an increase of about 22% over the same period in 2024.

In terms of investment, China has risen to become the third largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with total investment capital reaching 4.7 billion USD in 2024 and 3.13 billion USD in the first 8 months of 2025, an increase of 37.6%.

The fields of people-to-people exchange, culture and tourism have also achieved many encouraging results. Currently, there are more than 23,000 Vietnamese students living and studying in China.

The number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam in 2024 will reach 3.7 million, a sharp increase of 214.4%, and in the first 8 months of 2025, it will reach 3.5 million, making it the largest market sending tourists to Vietnam./.
