Son Heung-min scored one goal and contributed two assists, helping Tottenham win 4-0 at fourth-placed Aston Villa in round 28 of the Premier League.
The game at Villa Park has a huge impact on the race for the final Champions League spot. The fourth and fifth-placed teams were tight in the first half, with neither side managing a shot on target. The turning point came early in the second half when James Maddison opened the scoring, before Son shone with a goal and two assists to give Tottenham a big win. The three points saw Ange Postecoglu's men close the gap on Aston Villa to two points, having played a game less.

Aston Villa players could not keep calm after losing two consecutive goals to direct rivals. The home team also lost a man in the 65th minute, after captain John McGinn was sent off for a rough tackle on defender Destiny Udogie.
Despite being short-handed, Aston Villa still pushed their formation high up the pitch, creating conditions for Tottenham to counterattack. Kulusevski missed many chances but also left his mark in the first minute of injury time, with a favorable pass back for Son to connect from the front of the goal and score against the home team.

After the Aston Villa captain was sent off, the Tottenham captain shone brightly. In the fourth minute of injury time, Son had his third impact on the visitors' goals. The South Korean international dribbled the ball at speed down the left wing and passed it to Timo Werner for a one-touch finish, sealing a 4-0 win.
Aston Villa lost but still held on to fourth place. However, Tottenham have the advantage in the race for the top four, with a game in hand and just two points behind Aston Villa. Postecoglu's men also restored their six-point lead over sixth-placed Man Utd.
