Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) - the airline invested and developed by Sun Group - has just been officially granted the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) No. 2025-669/CAAV by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. This is an important legal basis, recognizing that SPA has met all requirements to officially operate regular commercial flights.
The SPA was built not only to serve a certain group of customers but also to expand the opportunity to travel, relax and explore Phu Quoc for all Vietnamese people and tourists from all over the world with direct flights and reasonable costs.

AOC is an aircraft operator certificate issued by the aviation authority, allowing the airline to operate commercially within the approved scope. To achieve this certification, Sun PhuQuoc Airways completed the construction and had the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam approve the airline's document system and operating procedures. Immediately after that, the airline practiced and completed 7/7 scenarios in the rehearsal in the control room; performed well the emergency escape procedures on the aircraft; safely and successfully operated the test flights including the diversion flight and night flight.
The completion of this entire rigorous process shows that Sun PhuQuoc Airways has fully met the most stringent standards of safety and operational capacity.
On the same day, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also approved and issued Approved Training Organization (ATO) Certificate No. 679-ATO/GCN-CHK to Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
The ATO approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam allows Sun PhuQuoc Airways to proactively train and develop high-quality aviation human resources to serve the airline's operations and business plans. The simultaneous ownership of AOC and ATO not only demonstrates the airline's operational capacity, but also demonstrates its sustainable development strategy and human resource autonomy.
Previously, at the end of August, Sun Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CAE Group (Canada) - the world's leading aviation training unit - to build Sun Aviation Academy. The granting of ATO along with the establishment of Sun Aviation Academy once again affirms the long-term vision of Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways in proactively building high-quality human resources, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's aviation industry.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, General Director of Sun PhuQuoc Airways affirmed: “The simultaneous approval of both AOC and ATO by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is an important milestone, affirming our thorough and comprehensive preparation. This is a strong commitment to a flight journey that is not only safe and of high quality, but also guaranteed by an elite team of staff, well-trained from the beginning”.
With AOC in hand, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is officially eligible to open ticket sales from October 15 and will take off its first commercial flight on November 1. According to the plan, from the beginning, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will focus on exploiting the "hub and spoke" flight network, with Phu Quoc as the center, connecting directly to key domestic tourist and economic cities. Expected flight routes: Phu Quoc - Hanoi, Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc - Da Nang and some other important flights such as Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don, Da Nang - Phu Quoc. In the coming time, the airline will continue to expand flights from Phu Quoc to other provinces and cities.
Positioned as the first “resort airline” in Vietnam, Sun PhuQuoc Airways not only brings passengers to Phu Quoc - the island voted the second most beautiful in the world by Travel & Leisure - but also opens a seamless journey with Sun Group's world-class ecosystem.
