Phu Bai International Airport will stop receiving aircraft from 8am to 2pm on September 28. Da Nang International Airport will stop receiving aircraft from 6am to 11am on September 28.
Airports forecast to be in the area directly affected by storm No. 10 include: Tho Xuan Airport, Vinh Airport, Dong Hoi Airport.
Phu Bai International Airport in Da Nang is expected to be affected by early gusts of wind caused by the storm's circulation.
Noi Bai, Van Don, Cat Bi international airports and Chu Lai Airport proactively update information, taking precautions in case the storm has unusual developments.
To proactively respond to storm No. 10, ensure safety of flights, people and property at airports, and minimize negative impacts on flight operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires agencies and units to organize 24/7 duty; strictly implement the Storm and Tropical Depression Response Procedure in civil aviation activities.
For Van Don International Airport and airports under the Vietnam Airports Corporation in the area affected by storm No. 10, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the presiding units to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect the airport infrastructure system, communication system... to promptly detect and handle damages (if any) to ensure the safety of works, stations, and ensure the safety of operations at airports.
At the same time, deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in airports, protect works, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.
For airports currently under construction (Cat Bi International Airport, Vinh Airport, Dong Hoi Airport), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires investors to request contractors to immediately deploy storm response work; determine technical stopping points to stop construction according to the storm's developments; prepare conditions to promptly fix construction incidents, ensure safety, and limit damage caused by storms.
In addition, arrange 24/7 duty, proactively update meteorological information to promptly propose appropriate and safe exploitation plans.
The Department also noted that units after the storm weakened and made landfall were at risk of causing post-storm rain.
Regarding the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested VATM to direct aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor the weather situation in the area of responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; and provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.
For airlines and flight safety service providers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires units to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 10 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure safety for flight operations.
In addition, it is necessary to fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological facilities and base on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, and protect people and property of the unit from natural disasters.
For the Northern and Central Airports, the Authority requests the Airports to supervise the implementation of response contents at relevant airports; ensure smooth communication with the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and relevant agencies and units within their scope of responsibility to deploy response in all situations.
