On the evening of October 14, Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the starting lineup of the Vietnamese team for the second leg match against Nepal in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, taking place at 7:30 p.m. today at Thong Nhat Stadium.
Compared to the first leg win over Nepal 3-1 at Go Dau Stadium, coach Kim Sang Sik made 4 changes to the starting lineup for the Vietnamese team.
Accordingly, the number one goalkeeper of the Vietnam U23 team, Tran Trung Kien, will start instead of Dang Van Lam - who did not play well in the first leg.
The trio of central defenders also had a change when U23 player Hieu Minh started with Duy Manh and Pham Xuan Manh.
Mr. Kim did not use Nhat Minh to play left center back to replace the injured Bui Tien Dung but used Pham Xuan Manh. Instead, Hieu Minh played as a slinger, leaving Duy Manh to play his favorite right center back.
The remaining two changes are in the attack line. Nguyen Van Vi plays left forward, U23 player Thanh Nhan plays right forward. The highest player in the attack line is Tien Linh.
This promises to create momentum for the Vietnamese team's attack when Van Vi entered the field in the second half of the previous match and scored the winning goal 3-1, while Thanh Nhan played aggressively, creating many dangerous situations.
The midfield of the Vietnamese team is still the quartet of Cao Pendant Quang Vinh (left), central midfielder Hoang Duc, Le Pham Thanh Long and Truong Tien Anh (right).
