On the afternoon of February 16, a representative of Huong Lap Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri Border Guard Command) provided additional information related to the incident of a car plunging into a 20-meter deep abyss in Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri).

Accordingly, the victim was Mr. D. D. H. (born in 1974, from Nghe An), driving alone on the Ho Chi Minh Highway, West branch, towards Quang Binh - Quang Tri, when the accident happened when reaching the road section through Huong Lap commune (Huong Hoa). Mr. H. is also the Director of SH Investment Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Hai Ba Trung district (Hanoi).

Mr. H. has been taken to Hanoi for a health check and is initially stable. Mr. H.'s family has also contacted the insurance company and is taking care of the car's damage in the accident.

Previously, as reported by VTC News, at around 8:15 a.m. on February 16, Huong Lap Border Guard Station received a report from local residents about a traffic accident in Cup village (Huong Lap commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province). Although the location of the accident vehicle was about 15km from Huong Lap Border Guard Station headquarters, the unit quickly coordinated with the police to deploy mobile forces to the scene to deploy rescue plans.

At the scene, the rescue team recorded a white Ford Territory car with license plate 30K-104.96 running on the Ho Chi Minh road, West branch, Quang Binh - Quang Tri direction. When reaching Km 164 + 300, passing through Cup village (Huong Lap commune), it had an accident and plunged into the abyss about 20 meters from the right embankment.

The accident caused the car to be severely damaged, and the people in the car were taken to a medical facility for emergency treatment. Currently, Huong Lap Border Guard Station is still coordinating with Huong Lap Commune Police to arrange forces to protect the scene and coordinate with functional forces to rescue people and vehicles in the accident and verify and clarify the cause of the accident.
