Driver of First Bus turned off the journey monitoring device, tested positive for drugs

Previously, on the night of August 29, the working group of the Traffic Police Department and the Traffic Police Department of Phu Yen Province conducted a special inspection of drivers on the road with alcohol and drugs in their bodies.

While performing their duties at km 1318 on National Highway 1A through An My commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province, the working group discovered that the driver of the passenger bus with license plate 77B-013.29, VVT (born in 1985, residing in Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province), had unusual signs, so they quickly tested his urine sample and the result was positive for MOP (Heroin).

In addition, the working group also discovered that the journey monitoring device on this passenger bus had been turned off since 11:41 a.m. on August 29.

The First Bus Company's vehicles are being detained.

The VVT driver confessed that he had previously been invited by a motorbike taxi driver at a bus station in Ho Chi Minh City to smoke heroin, and the vehicle tracking device had a switch installed by the bus company to turn off the transmission when the vehicle was moving and turn it on when inspected by authorities.

For the acts of driving a vehicle with drugs in the body, driving a vehicle participating in the passenger transport business with a journey monitoring device installed but the device was not working, the working group drew up an administrative violation record for the driver VVTh. At the same time, the working group also temporarily detained the above-mentioned passenger vehicle, requiring the owner of the First Transport Company to mobilize another vehicle to transport 28 passengers on the passenger car with license plate 77B-013.29 to continue the journey to Ho Chi Minh City that same night.

The First Passenger Transport Company was also fined for using a vehicle equipped with a journey monitoring device, but the device was not working.
