On the morning of October 2, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan Commune ( Quang Tri Province) decided to temporarily suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School. Ms. Hue was temporarily suspended from her position for 15 days, starting from October 2.
Mr. Do Van My, the principal, is still running the school. The management of the temporary boarding kitchen has been assigned to someone else.

"In order to stabilize the immediate situation and allow students to return to school, the government has temporarily suspended the Vice Principal in charge of boarding. Regarding other related issues, we must wait for the official conclusion from the authorities to have a basis for handling," said a leader of Kim Ngan commune.
On the morning of October 2, boarding students returned to school after two days off, except for a few students with severe symptoms who needed more time to rest. Teachers at the school visited these students at their homes to encourage them.
Parents are no longer confident about eating at school.
Previously, yesterday afternoon (October 1), parents had a working session with the Department of Education and Training, Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee and Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School.

At the meeting, parents said they were no longer confident about the food and activities at school, so they decided to let their children stay home. At the same time, parents requested the school to change the food supplier, replace the catering staff, and suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue , Vice Principal in charge of boarding.
At the meeting, Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, expressed regret over the incident and shared the difficulties with parents and students. Ms. Huong requested the school to review all boarding activities, from personnel, kitchen procedures, raw materials to processing, and strictly handle violations after the official conclusion.

"This is a very unfortunate incident, showing that there are still laxities in management. The school's Board of Directors must clearly recognize their responsibilities and consider all shortcomings to resolve them completely. The most important thing is the safety of the students," said Ms. Huong.
As reported by VietNamNet, at around 8am on September 26, after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, many students showed symptoms of stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea. The school then coordinated with the authorities and parents to mobilize vehicles to take 40 students to Le Thuy Regional General Hospital for examination and treatment.

Then appeared a 44-second clip with audio recording of the school's medical room with the presence of Principal Do Van My, Vice Principal Do Thi Hong Hue, school medical staff, a homeroom teacher and many students with symptoms of poisoning.
Although the medical staff suggested transferring the students to the hospital, Ms. Hue - Vice Principal firmly disagreed and affirmed that 100% of the students were normal.
However, Mr. Do Van My explained that Ms. Hue did not forbid taking the children to the hospital but wanted to give them electrolytes and monitor them further. If it was beyond the authority of the medical staff, they would take them.
Quang Tri Province Center for Disease Control has taken food samples and 12 rectal fluid samples for testing. All samples have been sent to Nha Trang Pasteur Institute and the results are not yet available.
