Random thoughts on water hyacinth

Borrowing the image of purple water hyacinth flowers, symbolizing loyalty, journalist and poet Nguyen Hong Vinh recalled the memory of Uncle Ho's soldiers and their comrades during the anti-American war to save the country. When night fell, they bravely jumped into the rushing river, weaving between the water hyacinth clumps to hide from the enemy. Many female guerrillas were waiting on the other bank to welcome the troops and used checkered scarves as a signal to guide the troops to surround the fort, destroy the enemy, and liberate the clumps and hamlets from foreign invaders.
